Gotta have Upvotes and Downvotes

if this forum substitute takes off Upvotes and Downvotes make peoples opinions known without flooding threads with effectively the same message over and over again
it's something that's being discussed with mods! you're right that it allows people to share their opinions without reposting the same messages, but the trade off is that it incentivizes people to simply drop a reaction on the OP instead of replying with a constructive post. some things that votes were also used for on the original forums weren't exactly user friendly (e.g BHVR making it so threads that had -5 in downvotes stopped getting bumped when someone comments) and it left a bad taste in my mouth.DodoSwarm wrote: Tue Sep 22, 2026 11:26 pm if this forum substitute takes off Upvotes and Downvotes make peoples opinions known without flooding threads with effectively the same message over and over again
i could maybe add basic reactions to posts, but i don't know if i want to tie a voting system to posts directly just yet. polls are a good option for this if someone wants an opinion voted on, but if it's something that people really want for posts and karma specifically, i can look into it though.
