about a month and a half in and we still haven't resolved the redirect issue on the main forums. lol

the only reason why they even bothered to address the broken formatting issue was because enough forum members made a stink about it, and it was so blatantly obvious that mandy had to do something (even though technically all she did was contact vanilla). yet they took away your ability to have custom icons and broke permissions in other places without any notice.

honestly i'm questioning why the main forums even exist now. whatever is left of it is starting to fall apart and the user base doesn't make it any better. why are we also jailing people for challenging posts that clearly don't contribute anything to conversations??? i don't understand the logic

Now that they are shutting down the official forums, this will be the next alternative for those who don't want to go to the larger official channels.

yeah, it's no surprise but it's still disappointing. all those years of conversations and genuine attempts to try and communicate with the developers almost entirely went to waste imho.

at least conversations can now be had without being silenced or twisted into PR campaigns. LOL

unfortunately i feel like other communities may end up meeting the same fate at some point though. at the rate things are going, content is progressively going to get pushed through even more (now automated) filters and more people are going to be left unheard at a mass scale. it doesn't seem too bright on the other side.

Hi, ty for creating this place.

I got banned from the forum and even the dev who banned me couldn't explain me why. There was a ban before that was totally justfied. The next ban was like someone is searching a reason to remove me from the forum. I've asked why I got banned and the dev sended me this post (it has been deleted).

This culminated with your removal from our platform on April 15th for once again failing to remain civil and respectful and using divisive language on the forum - your comment is in the screenshot below.

I am here because I am interested in where DBD goes but refuse to give my time and energy to BHVR if they don't want to hear from longtime players about anything, my main grievance with the official forums (besides them being closed down) is the apparent lack of reading them BHVR did... or at the very least lack of considering genuine complaints or suggestions so much so that they are shifting it to the unbearable official discord where it's impossible to have a genuine conversation.

this seemed to be the trend. people who were already on a hidden thin line (usually due to criticism) didn't really last much longer on the forums if they had a prior ban. many of our notable forum members experienced the same thing.

it's interesting you say this, because once upon a time they were actually quite active during the first few years of the forums. they dialed this back roughly when i joined and gradually just became more and more vacant. the responses also became more vague and 'corporate-y' as time went on too. the forums genuinely had soul and just started going away.

i really find it hard to believe that they think discord to be the best solution for communications. a messaging platform is not the move. discord is simply just mean to be a supplement, it's not meant for all of this.

hell, that's why these forums provide our discord as an option but it's not required. the bulk of in-depth conversations should be on this site, not in a channel with 500 messages that you have to endlessly scroll through. :/

Go figure.. But it is BHVR we are talking about. Skins and microtransactions are much more important than keeping the forums alive, and properly working.
